Introducing and Applying Snellen's Rationality Theory to Policy-Making

Author(s):
Abstract:
This study aimed to introduce and implement an applied model of policy-making, which was assumed to be able to remove or eliminate certain significant challenges policy-makers might encounter such as “separation of authoring phase from administration phase”, “lack of a best-fit policy-making theory”, and “lack of integration of the feedbacks taken from critics and scientific communities”. Researchers have tried to present a framework capable of covering while-policy-making as well as post-policy-making essentials. Hence, attempts were made in this case study to investigate the impact of “Ignace Snellen’s Rationality Theory” as the best-fit model on “price stabilization” rule and to elicit its strategies for three stages of planning, implementation and feedback. The data of the study were collected via library research as well as interviewing methods, and they were analyzed via a qualitative-structural method. The findings indicated the capability of the mentioned theoretical framework in removing the separation of theoretical planning and practical aspects of policies. This could provide an appropriate ground for integrating experts’ views during the process of analysis and feedback.
