Islamic principles in the field of environmental sustainability of the supply chain based on the islamic iranian model of progress

The sustainable supply chain management is one of the most important issues among academicians and the industry sector in recent years. Over the past two decades, many organizations have taken some steps to integrate the principles of sustainability into their long- and short-term decision-making. The factors driving an increased focus on sustainability can be divided into three distinct categories: Reducing risks and improving the financial performance of the supply chain, attracting customers who value sustainability and making the world more sustainable.
Environment protection is an important aspect of Islam. Muslims are to maintain the ecological balance created by Allah. Protection of the environment is essential to Islamic beliefs and mankind has the responsibility to ensure safe custody of the environment. The Purpose of this study is to identify Islamic principles in the field of environmental sustainability of the supply chain divided into two categories, the principle of Islamic insight and values, to provide a new insight to the perception of requirements of Islamic-Iranian model of progress in the field of supply chain management. The research method used for data gathering was qualitative based on the literature. Thematic analysis (TA) as a widely-used qualitative data analysis method was used to identify and present Islamic principles in the field of environmental sustainability. The results should give academicians, politicians and Industrial managers some clues to which strategic activities to employ.
