Kinetic Modeling Vacuum Gas Oil Hydrocracking Process with amorphous and Zeolite Catalysts

Author(s):
Abstract:
In this research, in order to description of yield of hydrocracking products of vacuum gas oil, a kinetic model with 5 discrete lumps including vacuum gas oil, diesel, kerosene, naphtha, and gas is proposed. To develop the model, the hydrocracking bed is considered as a plug flow reactor, and it is modeled using the cellular network approach. Then, a kinetic network with 20 coefficients and 10 routes is considered. But, following evaluation using measured data, a reaction network is proposed for amorphous and zeolite catalysts including 4 main paths; therefore, the number of coefficients is reduced to 8 coefficients. Results show that using the mentioned strategy, the average absolute deviation (AAD%) of prediction for amorphous and zeolite catalysts is reduced from 6.7% and 20.15% to 4.15% and 19.25%, respectively.
