Citation analysis of the arti-cles from the faculty members of Tehran University indexed in Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC), 2006-2011

The aim of this research was status analysis of the articles of faculty members of Tehran University in the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) indexed between the years 2006 to 2011.
This is an applied research carried out based on the citation analysis method which is one of the methods of scientometrics.
Findings: Research Findings indicated that, out of 1640 persons, 1237 faculty members of Tehran University have had 12477 articles indexed in the ISC. The number of citations to the articles was very low (341 citations). College of Agriculture and Natural Resources have had the highest number of articles and most percent of citations in the ISC. The rates of articles production from 2006 to 2011 has increased and only in 2011 production of articles declined, compared to 2010. Citation growth trend has decreased in this period. Mohammad Reza Bihamta, faculty member of College of Agriculture and Natural Resources has the most articles and Ali Akbar Saboury, faculty member of Institute of Bio-chemistry and Biophysics(IBB) has received the most citations in the ISC.
Conclustion: The study revealed that a proportion of the members of faculty had no contribution in production of ISC indexed journals.
