An Evaluation of the extent of Effectiveness of Carrying out Long Courses in Maritime University of Imam Khomeini in Realization of the Objectives of Strategic Naval Forces

The present study aimed at investigating the extent of effectiveness of longitudinal courses held at Imam Khomeini Maritime University on realization of the educational objectives of strategic navy. The population of this study was all the middle and high level managers and commanders of navy who have at least five years of experience in managing and commanding (691 persons) from whom 212 persons were selected as the sample of the study through categorical random sampling. Library research was used for collecting data needed for literature review and a modified questionnaire was employed for testing the hypotheses. Cranach alpha (α=0.921) was used to calculate the reliability of the questionnaire. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by survey and gathering expert's ideas. The collected data was analyzed through descriptive statistics. In order to test the hypotheses and find out the relationship between the variables, one sample t-test was used, using SPSS software. Independent variable of the study was longitudinal courses of the university including B.S., Advanced officers, and M.S. Moreover, its dependent variable was the extent of realization of strategic navy’s objectives. Data analysis revealed that all the hypotheses were confirmed which means that longitudinal courses held at the university were in line with strategic objectives of navy and also the extent of the impact of such courses on the determined indexes of strategic objectives of navy was specified.
