Barriers in transferring the body remains of Shiite Moslems from India to Mashhad for burial in later years of the Qajarid rule

This paper investigates difficulties of transferring body remains of Shiite Moslems for burial from India to Shiite sacred sites, in particular to Mashhad between 1906 and 1911. The paper also tells about the ways used to bypass such difficulties
Method/Research Design: Archival documents from the Department of Foreign Affairs of Iran, as well as library resources were consulted to prepare this report.
Findings: Soliciting influential Iranian figures was the solution sought to bypass tough health regulations, to protect trade between Iran and the sub-continent.
