The Role of Road Factor in the Severity of Driving Accidents in the Province of Ilam

The province of Ilam has had the highest indices of driving incidents in recent years which is the worst conditions in the country. The current article is to determine the role of road factor in the severity of driving accidents in the Ilam province roads. This study is applied in terms of goals and from a data gathering point of view, it is descriptive survey. The statistical population of this study was comprised of drivers and experts in the area of accidents in then Ilam province, where questionnaires as well as documents were used for gathering data. The findings have shown that the factor of slope and arch and geometric problems with a weight of 0.462, non-separate two-sided ways with a weight of 0.249 and narrowness of road with a weight of 0.127, lack of protective guards with a weight of 0.088, lack of lightening in the crossings with a weight of 0.045 and lack of signposts and equipment with a weight of 0.030 had the most effective roles in the severity of road accidents in the province of Ilam respectively.
