Study of tourist's experiences of religious sites and their impact on tourism management (Case Study: Isfahan Imam Mosque)

Abstract:
Tourism is growing in religious places around the world, but our understanding of the motives, interests and needs of tourists is limited on these sites. Despite the fast and ever increasing growth of tourism industry in the world, and existence of many tourist attraction capacities in Iran, existing information and statistics indicate unsuccessful performance in Iran. One of the main reasons seems to be ignoring the expectations and preferences of tourists as well as any efforts to increase their satisfaction. The purpose of this study is better understanding of the level of tourist's satisfaction and experience visiting of a religious place, also the function of the predesigned characteristics is evaluated from their point of view.
The subject in this research was the tourists who have visited Imam Mosque in spring of the year 2015. In the study, tourists were asked to rate the im ortance of the services and facilities’ features identified, then evaluating performance of each same features. The results of the research have been evaluated using significance-performance analysis.
