Analysis of Rational- Philosophical Method in Theological School of Mutazilite and Asharites and Imamiyah

One of the methods used by Theologians in establishment of their theological views and regulation of their theological issues is rational-philosophical method. In this method, a theologian deals with analysis of philosophical issues and explains their views before beginning theological discussions. This article, having descriptive tendency, will explore theological works of Mutazilite, Asharites and Imamiyah theologians, aiming to explain the significance and status of this method among theologians. This survey suggests that all these three theological schools have paid attention to rational-philosophical method and utilized it in issues like establishment of existence of God, identity of essence of God and his attributes, knowledge of God and so on.
