Direct and indirect impact analysis of social network on mental health: Social support as an intermediate variable

Abstract:
Aim: This study evaluates the impact of social network and social support on mental health. Clearly, mental health is affected by body health, anxiety levels, and depression and social function.
Method
In this research, various theories (Vol man, Fisher, Turner ...) have been evaluated about the social network, social support and mental health. The statistical population consisted of male and female students of Tehran university and data collection was done by using a questionnaire, 370 students were selected by random sampling method. Data analysis was done using SPSS software. Pearson correlation coefficient and multivariate regression were used to interpret and analyze the data.
Results
The results of the study indicate that there is a meaningful relationship between the social network and social support with mental health dimensions.
Conclusion
That is, the greater the social networking and social support of the individual, the same as his mental health increases.
