Self-Assessment of Senior Dental Students about Acquired Skills Based on the Educational Program

Self-assessment is one of the methods for evaluating clinical skills acquired by graduated student .The aim of this study was to investigate the self-assessment of senior dental students clinical skills based on curriculum in Guilan University of medical sciences.
In this descriptive cross-sectional study, the clinical skills of all senior dental students of Rasht dental school (34 students) were assessed through a researcher-made questionnaire in 2014-2015.The validity and reliability of the questionnaire was confirmed through content validity test and Cronbach's alpha test (α= 0.8). Data were analyzed by Descriptive statistics, Friedman and chi - square test through SPSS.
The average score of student's assessment about their clinical skills (from 25 grades) was 17.38 ± 2.81. The finding showed that student self-assessment scores were significantly different in different departments (P Student's evaluation about their skills was good in most sectors. It is believed that by using modern teaching methods, significant advances will be made to increase student's clinical skills.
