The relationship between stress, anxiety and depression and spiritual well-being in patients with acute coronary syndrome

Backgrounds and anxiety,stress and depression can cause chest pain. On the other hand the spiritual health is the main factors of the compatibility with the disease. Aim of This study was to investigate the relationship between stress, anxiety and depression with spiritual health in patients with acute coronary syndrome.
This Cross-sectional study was performed on 300 patients with acute coronary syndrome for 10 mountsl in Qom University of Medical Sciences in. The study through Convenience sampling. Data collection was done through using the demographic and clinical data questionnaire, Depression, anxiety, stress scale and spiritual health questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS13 and Appropriate statistical tests.
The mean score of anxiety, stress and depression, was 7/8±2/7, 9/14±4/9 and 7/4±4/4, respectively and Existential and religious health was 46/75± 5 and 45/78 ± 5/2 respectively. The mean scores of anxiety and stress with Existential health )r=0.171 and r=0.196 ( and depression with both component of Existential and religious health (r=0.294 and r=0.244), revealed a significant correlation .Independent T test showed that increasing age is increased of depression and stress and is reduced of health.Depression, stress, Existential and religious health were higher, in patients with chronic diseases. In drug user, stress, anxiety, existential and religious health were higher.
In this study, anxiety, stress and depression were normal and existential and religious healthy were moderate. The reduction of depression improved Existential and religious health.Patients older than 60 years, history of chronic disease and the drug user should be considered
