The effectiveness theory of mind and Applied Behavior Analysis in reducing ADHD unpleasant behavior

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of two interventional therapeutic methods of mind theory and the Applied Behavioral Analysis(ABA) in reducing the adverse behaviors of children with ADHD in Dezful city. The sample was included 30 children aged 6 to 12 who according to DSM-5 introduced and randomly divided into 3 groups of 10 (two experimental and control groups). The measurement tool included the degree of Conner’s attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. First, for each of the three groups, a pretest was conducted, then one of the experimental groups, the theory of mind and the other, considered the application behavioral analysis training for three months, 5 sessions per hour each month, and the control group their normal programs without any training.The data were analyzed using one-way covariance analysis.The results showed that the experimental group who had seen Applied Behavioral Analysis was significantly reduced their undesirable behaviors, but unpleasant group behaviors who had seen the theory of mind training did not significantly decrease.
