Investigating the Impact of Professor's Organizational Citizenship Behaviors on the Improvement of Student's Entrepreneurial Behaviors in the Islamic Azad University (Shirvan Branch)

Abstract:
The organizational citizenship behavior is a voluntary behavior that is not directly designed by the official system of the organization but it promotes the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of professors’ organizational citizenship behaviors on the improvement of students’ entrepreneurial behaviors. Actually, it was a descriptive-correlational study that studied a statistical population of 62 professors of the Islamic Azad University (Shirvan Branch) as well as 2800 students who were studying in the academic year 2015-2016 in this university. The professors were selected through the census method but the students were selected through quota random sampling method (N=338) based on Krejcie & Morgan Table. The data collection tools were limited to the Entrepreneurship Questionnaire (Aghaee, 2008) and Organizational Citizenship Behavior Questionnaire (Oregon and Kanovsky, 1996). It should be noted that these questionnaires were characterized with acceptable face and content validity. Besides, the Cronbach's Alpha coefficients of Entrepreneurship Questionnaire and Organizational Citizenship Behavior Questionnaire were determined as 0.82 and 0.87, respectively. Next, the data were analyzed using SPSS Software (Version 18). The results showed that the level of organizational citizenship behavior among the professors of Islamic Azad University (Shirvan Branch) was above the average level (65.04) but the entrepreneurial behaviors of the students was low (45.24). The statistical findings showed that there was a significant correlation between professors’ organizational citizenship behaviors and its dimensions and improvement of students’ organizational entrepreneurial behaviors.
