Abstract:
One of the problems that have extremely challenged Avicenna’s philosophy is the theory of imprinted forms in the divine substance as the attributes of divine knowledge before creation. Mistrusting this theory, Ghazali, Suhrawardi, Tusi and many other Islamic scholars, including theologians and philosophers relied on other ways of explaining the divine knowledge. Mulla Sadra who was in agreement with the general view of Avicenna tried to express it in such a way that it would get rid of its false inevitable results. Therefore it can be claimed that Mulla Sadra's theory of the qualification of the divine knowledge before creation was taken from Avicenna, but it was purged of its weaknesses and its strengths were highlighted.
