An Analysis of Influencial Factors on Women's Employment: A Case Study of Iran's Manufacturing

Abstract:
In this study, first the trend of womens employment was analyzed and then between 1373-1385 the role of influential factors on womens employment in Irans manufacturing was identified. A neoclassical model was used and womens employment was considered as a function of value added to costant price, womens as well as mens wages to costant price and real cost of using capital. Based on the results of estimating womens labour forces demand with panel data model, value added has the most positive effect on womens employment. Therefore, obviation of production growth obstacles in industries has the most contribution to womens employment.
Also, hypothesis regarding womens labour forces substitution with physical capital and mens labour forces was confirmed. Finally although womens real wages has negative effect on their employment, but it was not significant.
