A comparison of the representation of the conceptual metaphors and emotions in deaf and nondeaf adult's languages

The present paper consists of a report of a study the representation of conceptual metaphors especially love metaphors in the language used by Iranian deafs .28 informants from Tehran language center for deafs, and internet sites specialized for deafs, were chosen and interviewed. The conclusion of the present research manifested: Despite that the deafs usage of metaphors is less than non-deafs, in some specific domains related to biological aspects of human body and sense experiences, the metaphors such as love conceptual metaphors are found in sign language more than natural language. For example data sample showed that domains of food and edible things %80, social superiority %17, and madness %33 are used in Iranian sign language.
