Dialectal words and features in Baba Tahir quatrains

Baba Tahir is a poet from the area of Hamadan in 5th century. He is best known for his quatrains originally composed in a local dialect of the period, though in course of time so many corruptions have crept in that it is impossible to be certain what is the original form of the quatrains and what is the dialect in which the quatrains were written. This paper deals with the dialectal features of these quatrains and some suggestions are given for reading and meaning of some words. The results of this paper suggest that these quatrains are written in a Central Iranian dialect, though have some affinity with the other Northwestern Iranian dialects.
