Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy on self-efficacy and depression in individuals dependent on crystal. This study was a quasi-experimental research conducted in the form of pretest-posttest with control group. Statistical population included all individuals dependent on crystal refereeing to Drug abuse treatment center of the city of Rudsar in 2016. Twenty four crystal-dependent individuals who achieved the lowest scores on the General Self-Efficacy Scale and the highest scores on the Beck Depression Inventory were selected and placed randomly in experimental (n=12) and control (n=12) groups. The experimental group received cognitive-behavioral therapy during ten ninety-minute sessions, whereas the control group did not receive any training. The experimental and control groups completed the General Self-Efficacy Scale and the Beck Depression Inventory in pretest-posttest.
