The effect of Faculty Member's personality Charisma on student's perception of the effectiveness of teaching

This research had a dual purpose. First, identify the relationship between faculty members’ personal charisma & their students’ perception from teaching effectiveness &, second identify the components of effective teaching from the perspective of students. Therefore, a descriptive survey method was used. Data on a 12 items questionnaire questioners was collected from the 250 undergraduate students’ view in University of Kurdistan were collected. Data using Confirmatory Factor Analysis were analyzed. The parameters of a theoretical model of effective teaching & charismatic in the form of covariance matrix estimated & using maximum likelihood were tested. According to the obtained indexes from model tests, it was concluded that the model fit the data well have been studied. Results also showed that students’ identifying the teacher as a charismatic personality was an important predictor of evaluation of teaching effectiveness. The findings offered some challenge for using results of evaluation of the teaching in important decisions concerning the hiring & promotion of faculty members in higher education institutions. The study results also suggest that the students’ evaluation of teaching should be interpreted with caution.
