The epic Kuh-e Damāvand, an unknown heroic poem from the Safavid period

In recent years, with the expansion of the range of epic studies, scholars have come to be acquainted with a number of heroic poems, which were unknown to them until then, the reason being mainly their sub-standard language, as this category of works, mostly belonging to recent times, originated in the culture of general populace. One of such heroic texts is the poem Kuk-e Damāvand, which did not gain any significant fame and was not profusely reproduced, apparently because of the similarities of its accounts with its contemporary texts.
By examining the intertextual evidence and comparing the stylistic features of this poem with those of similar texts, one can find out the approximate date of its composition. In this article, first, the poem has been introduced, and then its composition date has been investigated and several stylistic features of it have been addressed.
