The effectiveness of Quality of Life Therapy in Self-Compassion and Future Time Perspective in menopausal women

The goal of this research was determining the effectiveness of Quality of Life Therapy in Self-Compassion and Future Time Perspective in menopausal women. The sample was comprised of 30 menopausal women (50-55 years) who live in Tehran which were selected by purposeful sampling method from the cultural house of Marefat of Tehran and were assigned randomly into two experimental and control groups. The method of this research was semi-experimental with pretest and post-test and control group. The two questionnaires of Self- Compassion (Neff) and Future Time Perspective (Brothers, Chui & Diehl) were completed before, and after the intervention and during fallow up after three months by both groups. Quality of Life Therapy was conducted in eight sessions (each session 120 minutes) for experimental group. In order to analyze the data, Covariance analysis was used. The results show that Quality of Life Therapy has significantly increased the self-compassion and future time perspective both in post test and after 3 months follow up. According to the results, quality of life therapy can be improve self-compassion and Future time perspective in menopausal women.
