The Theme of Naser Khosrow and Abū l-Atāhiyya Philosophical Poetries

Naser Khosrow and Abū l-Atāhiyya are the poets who developed philosophy in their poetic concepts. These two great poets are known as the pioneers of this field in spite of similarities and differences in expressing the purpose; the present paper tries to explain the similarities and differences by studying the frequency of those concepts. The results show that both poets attempted to express philosophical concepts in their poems. But Naser Khosrow have enjoyed the mentioned concepts based on ethical, religious and practical principles. It seems that he was familiar with the common Arabic poetry among Iranians of that era – especially Abū l-Atāhiyya. It could be claimed that he was affected by Abū l-Atāhiyya's concepts and philosophies.
