Abstract:
Hereditary spherocytosis (HS) is an inherited hemolytic disorder due to defects in membrane proteins include Spectrin, Ankyrin, protein 4.2 (pallidin) and band 3 deficiency that make red blood cells sphere shape, which predisposes to hemolysis due to their fragile membrane. Common complications include cholelithiasis, hemolytic episodes and aplastic crisis. In this report, we represent the anesthetic considerations of hereditary spherocytosis and a brief review of literatures.
