The Role and Position of the Islamic Traditions in Atyab-al-Bayan Exegesis

The traditions of the holy prophet (p.b.u.h) and of Ahl alBayt (a) (Arabic: Ãﻫﻞ ÇﻟﺒﯿÜﺖ ) are of the most significant sources in the Exegesis of the Noble Quran. It can be mentioned the oldest method in the exegesis of the verses of the holy Quran with considering its record and use in the Prophet's era and the revelation of the holy Quran. With analytic-descriptive method and with utilization of the library tools and authentic sources, this research is going to state the position and uses of the Islamic traditions in Atyab-al-Bayan exegesis. Findings show that Ayatollah sayyed Abd al-Hussein Tayyib of the contemporary exegetists in his precious tafsir"atyab-al-Bayan" has not neglected the crucial role of the Islamic traditions for the perception of the noble Quran and has used a lot the all types of the exegetical traditions in all tafsir"atyab-al-Bayan" for the different cases. The role and function of ahadith in the determination of verses can have different forms: the general tafsir of the verse, clarifying the details of ayat al-ahkam, the interpretation and explanation of Qisas (stories) verses, determining Asbāb al-nuzūl ( ÃﺳﺒﺎÈ Çﻟﻨﺰæá ), meaning occasions or circumstances of revelation, mentioning the instances of ambiguous words, determining Makkī (Arabic: ÜﻲøÇﻟﻤﮑ, suras and ayat revealed in Mecca) and Madanī (Arabic: ﻧﻲóÜﺪóÇﻟﻤ, suras and ayat revealed in Medina), stating the interpretive and inward meanings of the Quran verses.
