Religious Semantic Areas in the Poems of Allameh Seyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah (Case Study: Ghasaed Leleslam va Alhayat)

Allameh Fadlallah studied at the Seminary of Najaf, and this area had a considerable impact on the formation of his character. From the very beginning of his childhood, he made a strong relation with Islamic thoughts. He grew up in a religious, literary, and erudite family, both in Lebanon or in Najaf. “Ghasaed Leleslam va Alhayat” is one of his best known poetical works. The aforementioned work paved a novel way toward Arabic poetry, in general, and Iraqi-Najafi poetry, in particular. His poetic dictionary is replete with various vocabularies. In his relation with God as well as in his prayers, Fadlallah uses various words and terms linking man to the world of infinity. By investigating “Ghasaed Leleslam va Alhayat” (Poetry), in the present study, attempts were made to examine the religious thoughts of the aforementioned poet and to determine the most significant semantic fields used in this work. The most prominent religious semantic fields used in this work are divided into two groups: semantic fields of religion principals and that of the religion minor principles. Both fields are also divided into further subfields. In each semantic field, the special terms of that field is used by the poet. In addition to pointing out these fields, this study deals with the way of using the aforementioned terms by the poet. In these fields, thematic codes leading to the awareness of people, particularly the lovers of AhlulBayt.
