Examining the role of social distinctions on the boundaries of urban public spaces

Abstract:

Urban public space as the location of the crystallization of social action is a reflection of the distinctions between different social groups. In relation to resources within the space, these interactions exist in the form of spaces that have led to space demarcation by limiting the presence of different social groups, following that spatial form. The present study aims to identify the factors affecting the boundaries of urban public spaces and studying the role of social distinctions, with emphasis on the integrated approach based on thinkers such as simoel and Bourdieu, in an attempt to study hypotheses based on theoretical framework based on theoretical framework. for this purpose , with emphasis on criteria such as pattern of social interaction, how to use and monopoly space, social distance; tendency to segregation and in the way of analysis of the relationship between social boundaries and social distinctions, in central area of Tehran . The results show that although class distinctions have been an effective and undeniable support in the formation of, most of them are used to map boundaries within urban spaces.
