Relationship of Stressful Events with Psychological Problems of the Elderly with Religious Orientation Mediation

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between stressful events and psychological problems of elders with religious orientation mediation. The present study was descriptive and correlational. The statistical population of the study consisted of all males and females aged 60 years and older living in nursing homes in Sanandaj and Hamedan. The sample size was 101 people (58 men and 43 women) and were Purposive sampling method. The questionnaires that were used for the present research included the Stressful Life Events Questionnaire (Pequel et al., 1971), the Psychological Problems Questionnaire (Dragotis et al., 1973) and Religious Orientation (Allport, 1950). Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and Pearson correlation coefficient tests using SPSS.22 and Smart PLS.2 software.
