Sociological explanation of the relationship between political hope and social apathay Case Study: Shiraz university students

In sociological Studies social apathy as one of the most important issues in modern society is expressed.This study was conducted to evaluate the relationship between political hope and social apathy Because of political hope as an important element of any society is considered.In the current study Durkheim’s and Almond and Verba theory had been used as the theoretical framework. The method used in this research was of a survey and questionnairs as a tool for data collection among a sample of 400 people of university students that choosed by stratified sampling method. The results showed that the social apathay of % 40.5 of student was moderate to high,% 27 high, %19 moderate to low and only %13 had low social apathay . AlsoThe result of Pearson correlation relationship between the political hope and its components (belivieng in the Benefit from the rights of citizenship, belief in the Legitimacy of government, beliving in the possibility of effective political-social participation, optimism to policies) whit social apathy was confirmed. then results of regression analysis using stepwise method showed that Among the components of political hope; the Benefit from the rights of citizenship, Legitimacy of government, Optimism policies, explain %15 of social apathay changes.
