Awareness, use and Satisfaction of Dental Assistants of Iranian Medical Digital Library

Back ground and Aim: Digital libraries provide suitable substrates for use in the field of electronic information resources. Obtain and introduce of electronic resources to targets may be challenging for operators. Thus, the objective of this study is to determine awareness, use and Satisfaction of dental assistants of Iranian Medical Digital Library.
This is a descriptive study conducted among 267 dental assistants at Tehran, Shahid Beheshti and Shahed Universities of Medical Sciences used census to recruit participants used a self-designed questionnaire to collect data. Validity of the study instrument was investigated by faculty members in Medical Information Sciences and its reliability was assessed by Cronbach's alpha of.88.
180 (80%) of dental assistants were aware of Iranian Medical Digital Library. A majority of respondents used it from home and the library of college. Most of them used Iranian Medical Digital Library for their research work. The largest number of them studied 1-2 resources per week. The level of satisfaction was moderate.
Level of awareness from Iranian Medical Digital Library was suitable. Educational courses in clinical dentistry could be accelerate to achievement of articles and digital sources. Also, encourage students to use these resources for those did not aware and use them. Level of usage and satisfaction were lower than moderate.
