Message:
Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between early maladaptive schemas, personality traits and greed. This research was a descriptive correlational study and its statistical population included all Islamic Azad University of Khomein students from which 384 students were selected through multistage random sampling. The participants responded to the early maladaptive schema questionnaire, five personality questionnaire, and the Islamic scale of greed-contentment. Data were analyzed using pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise regression. The results showed that all areas of early maladaptive schemas and and subscale of neuroticism have a positive and significant relationship with greed, and the subscales of extroversion, openness to experience, agreeableness and conscientiousness have a negative and significant relationship with greed. Also, the subscales of dettachment and exclusion, agreeableness and disruptive constraints have the ability to explain a significant part of the variance of greed. The results of the research indicate the importance of parent's attention to the educational system of their children and the focus of therapists and moral advisers on the deep foundations of this moral attribute.
