Investigation of socio-cultural factors related to FARHANGIAN university studentsdisposition to critical thinking with emphasizing on cultural capita

This study was conducted to investigate factors related to university student's disposition to the critical thinking. Dependent variable of the study is tendency to the critical thinking and independent variables are, age field of study, years of education at university , socio -economic status , the amount of the trust to the content of the Social Networks and cultural capital The study population is all FARHANGIAN university students Who have been studying at the center of Fatemeh Al-Zahra campus in BANDARABBAS. From this number of the students ( 405 students) a sample of 120 students were selected based on Morgan table and were evaluated Researcher tools were questionnaire of disposition to critical thinking of Ricketts (2003 ) and Bourdieu's cultural capital questionnaire. The results of statistical analysis showed that the students got an average score in disposition to the critical thinking. According to the results there is a weak correlation between the variables of age , years of education at the University and disposition of critical thinking The results of the Regression analysis also showed that among the assumed independent variables , cultural capital variable with a coefficient of Beta31 and objective capital as one of the components of the cultural capital with a coefficient of Beta002 were positive predictors of disposition to critical thinking
