Imam Hussein (AS) and his followers in the Karbala Incident: A Model and for a meaningful life

One of the fundamental human questions is the question about the meaning of life. The answer to this question can affect all aspects of human life. The meaning of life in general means "purpose", "value", and "function" of life, which is considered by Islam. The purpose of present research is to analyze the meaningful life of Imam Hussein (AS) and his followers and explain the significant characteristics of his life in order to provide an ethical-behavioral model for today's human beings. In this research, two methods of transcendental analysis and practical inference have been used. The second method was used to infer the pattern of Imam (as) and his followers and the first method is used in order to deduce the principles of meaningful life in his life. The results showed that the uprising of Imam (AS) was an attempt to stabilize and realize an Islamist life, or a meaningful, true and valuable life. Therefore, the Muslims and his followers must seek all means of understanding and adopting a meaningful and Islamic way of him. Acting on the inferred principles of guidance, the negation of social indifference and the sense of responsibility in society can bring a meaningful life. Also, features of meaningful life, such as depth and importance of life, orbital purpose, self-awareness, morality, observance of values and ethical principles in life, moral integrity, and eventually having a religious life of Imam are other evidences of a meaningful life. Therefore, Imam Hussein (as) and his followers are patterns and heroes of life.
