Abstract:
In recent years, attention to the impact of stability indices on transportation, especially in the public sector, has been one of the main approaches to assessing urban transport systems. The importance of paying attention to this issue becomes more apparent when nowadays most urban public spaces and streets are heavily dominated by cars due to the increasing lack of vehicles and the complete dependence of their lifestyles, and they are of low quality.
The research method in this article has been descriptive and analytical. Due to the use of different indicators for selecting options in this research, multi-factorial decision-making and TOPSIS techniques have been used for analysis and evaluation.
A total of 20 indicators were evaluated in four general economic, social, physical, and environmental domains to determine the position and priority of four taxi, bus, monorail and walking options in the public transport sector. Because in the initial decision matrices, the indicators have different scales, because in the initial decision matrices, the indices have different scales, so the normalization methods were used to compare the indices.
The results of this study showed that the walking option was the highest as compared to other options. Increased flexibility in choices in walking mode and the possibility of reducing the cost of accidents and increasing safety, including seductive things, in favor of the walking option on other options. Because walking, in comparison with other options, leads to the formation of quiet, safer and more desirable human beings.
