The Analysis of Women Desirable Urban Space Structure with the Emphasis to the Security in Iranian-Islamic City (Case Study: The Mehdolghadam Neighborhood of Urmia City)

The security has a specific position (place) in human society. Women as a half of the human societies, due to the biological specifications, responsibilities and different perspectives in comparison with the men establish a distinct relationship with the space.. Making safety of the urban spaces is as one of the basic necessities of the urbanism, especially Islamic-Iranian urbanism.
This research is seeking to analyze the structure of urban space of the Mehdolghadam neighborhood as one of the traditional neighborhoods of Urmia city, with the aim of evaluating Islamic-Iranian city in it, and determining the utility of urban space structure in relation to the women security needs. In this way, first security and effective components of women security explained, and then provided the effective indicators of security. The methods of this research are descriptive-analytic and for data collecting, library and documentation is used. In this research to have a better understanding and evaluating the average of security feeling, the neighborhood divided into two parts and then, the indicators analyzed with the Chi-Square and Pearson Correlation Test in both parts. At the end, found that there is a significant correlation between the security indicator and others. Finally, security scale in the first part, evaluated upper than the second one.
