Assessment of sport injury cost in soccer via Sport Medicine Federation injury surveillance system in Iran

Every injury which happens during physical activity includes economic costs for treatment. This may cause loss of quality of life and job opportunities for the athlete in future. The aim of this research was to study the direct cost of injury in soccer in three years via the data of Sport Medicine Federation injury surveillance system. A retrospective analysis was conducted of the data of cost of injury for soccer athletes from the sport medicine federation injury surveillance system of Iran during three years of Persian calendar at 21st of March 2009 until 19th of March 2012.
