The Role & Place of " Documentation" in Public Knowledge Management Models: An Analytical Approach

Investigating the role and place of “documentation” in public knowledge management models.
By using qualitative systematic review, six public knowledge management models were chosen for analysis.
Findings: The findings showed that the term “documentation” has been emphasized in all of these six models by theorists; in “Hicks”, “Beckman” and “Bukowitz & Williams” models it has been emphasized directly but in the others (McElroy, 7C, and Nonaka & Takuechi) indirectly. The “Nonaka & Takeuchi” model is the model that focused on “documentation” in two steps.
Seating element documentation in public KM models can reflect the view of KM model planners to discuss the appropriateness of the position of a component model (documentation) in a whole unit (knowledge management model) was considered.
