Study of the images of Medical manuscript,? Tashrih Al-abdan?

Undoubtedly, paintings of Islamic manuscripts era, like other arts in this period are affected by earlier periods. The objective of this study is to evaluate the images in medical manuscripts that have been rarely mentioned in researches. Since these images have scientific content, addressing the issue and proportions of the art is not considered a priority in them. However, these images have a significant impact on understanding the implications of the text where no other word is expressive and only an image can explain the content. The main subject is about a book called "Tashrih al-Abdaan" by Ibn Elias Shirazi who has used drawing of the human figure to show different body organs. Being intrepidly simple, the images present innovations that have no similar sample in eight century. The aim of this study is to introduce and review the images in the book, the origins of these images and analysis of the figures that are stimulating in terms of proportions, simple sketching, and realism and so on. In this context, questions arise: Where are the roots of these images? In this study, descriptive-analytical and library research methods were used to collect information. While examining several manuscript of this book, I found similar features in images, which show that each version somehow has borrowed or copied some features from its previous version and only the discrepancy among the painters of images has caused differences in details. The results show that the use of dignity perspective by the use of color and change elements has helped to the classifying of parts of the body. Also using the element of imagination and the writing induce the mobility feeling. These figures can be analyzed from the aesthetics point of view, are influenced by the art of their time and have influenced the subsequent periods.
