The relationship between sexual function with depression and anxiety in postmenopausal women referred to health centers of Torbat Heydariyeh in 1395

Nowadays, women's health in the years following menopause is crucial. Sexual function is an important part of women's lives. Changes in it, especially during menopause can have a huge impact on their health. However, menopause associated with numbers of premature symptoms, including anxiety, depression, change in libido, and vaginal dryness. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between sexual function with depression and anxiety in postmenopausal women referred to health centers of Torbat Heydariyeh.
Method & Materials: This study was a cross-sectional study of 200 women referred to health centers in Torbat Heydariyeh that were selected by simple sampling. Data collection tools were included demographic information, sexual function (FSFI) and depression and anxiety (HADS) questionnaire. The results of the study showed that (72.5%) of postmenopausal women did not have a satisfactory sexual performance. There was also a significant relationship between sexual function and depression and anxiety, so that the greater the degree of depression and anxiety, sexual performance is more unfavorable. According to the results, only less than half of women had optimal sexual performance and anxiety and depression and sexual dysfunction had a direct relationship together. By result, a coherent plan for improving the quality of life is needed
