Identification and ranking of factors affecting the recruitment and retention of Iranian talents in the universities using BWM

Many academic researches concerning “Talent Management” have been done during the last decade. Recruitment and retention of scientific and academic talent personnel are specially so crucial for the universities and the other educational institutes. This article attempts to identify and to rank the factors affecting the recruitment and retention of scientific forces for the universities. Starting with the study of Verhaegen (2005) related to the identification of factors affecting the recruitment and retention of scientific human resources, the researchers struggled, at the first time, to sort and to fit these impact factors of recruitment and retention of talent people to the Iranian universities. Then the researchers tried to rank these factors using the BWM template. The above-mentioned factors have been compared with each other by the experts, once for the recruitment of scientific applicants and once for the retention of academic H.R. The results show that, concerning the recruitment and retention of scientific talent H.R., special attention should be paid to the brand of university and its popularity on the other hand, concerning the retention of academic forces, special attention should be paid to the educational atmosphere of university and it's cultural and value systems.
