Abstract:
In this study, titanate lanthanide double perovskites modified with transition metals [La2TiMO6(M= Fe, Mn, Co, ….)] were prepared by sol–gel method and tested for the photocatalytic decomposition of an azo dye, basic red 46, under visible light. The experimental results showed that La2TiMnO6 has the highest photocatalytic activity. Then, the effect of synthesis parameters of sol–gel method on the photocatalytic property was investigated. In the following, CNT /La2MnTiO6 nanocomposites with different mass ratio of CNT were prepared. The results of photocatalytic testshowed that the photocatalytic performance of the CNT/La2MnTiO6 nanocomposites is higher than that of pure La2MnTiO6 and the CNT(50%wt)/La2MnTiO6 showed the highest photocatalytic activity and removal efficiency of basic red (90 %). The structure, morphology and light absorption of prepared samples were characterized by XRD, SEM and UV–vis (DRS mode) spectroscopy.
