Abstract:
Purpose
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of storytelling on students' aggression and anxiety.
Method
This research was a semi-experimental, pre-test, post-test, control group or control group. The sample consisted of 30 subjects who were selected randomly from among primary school students in Mahshahr in the academic year 1396-1397. They were randomly divided into two experimental groups (15 people) and control (15 people). Aggression Questionnaire (Bass & Perry, 1998), Anxiety Scale (Spence, 2007), and Parykh and Majdi's (2009) Storytelling Toolkit. Statistical analysis of multivariate covariance analysis (MANCOVA) and one way to collect data was performed.
Results
The results showed that the level of aggression and anxiety in the experimental group decreased at the end of the intervention.
Conclusion
Stress therapy can moderate the students' aggression and anxiety. Similar studies with subjects from different cities and with different cultures can enhance the generalizations of the findings.
