Family Stability and the Continuation of Marital Life: Qualitative Study in Shiraz City

Various factors, intertwined from pre-marriage to the choice of spouse, and in different stages of common life, play a role in the success and sustainability of marital life. The aim of this qualitative study was to explore the divorce inhibitors from the viewpoint of married women to find the areas of stability, sustainability and Implications of the continuity of their common life. Contributors to this research included 20 married and compatible women who were different in terms of age, level of education, employment status, number of children and age difference with their husbands. Targeted and then theoretical sampling was conducted and semi-structured interviews were done for data gathering. Then Strauss and Corbin encoded data analysis was performed in three stages of open, axial and selective coding.
Proper marriage and marital security are the causal conditions that create an efficient and normal family. The right choice of the spouse and parent’s education and support backgrounds as causative factors and managing media and cyberspace and the moral care of couples as intervening conditions continued the presence of married women in common life. Married women's strategy in an effort to create an efficient and normal family, tolerating the hardships and difficult conditions of life, with the proper management of critical situations, and through the mutual empathy and support of couples. The consequence of all these conditions and active actions is the flexibility, dynamism and high level of family cohesion that will lead the institution of the family from the onslaught of turbulence and life difficulties to peace and stability. The findings of this research can be helpful in Culture-building to reach a coherent and frisky family in the community.
