Using Geospatial Information System and Analytical Hierarchy Process in Landslide Hazard Zonation
Author(s):
Abstract:
Identifying areas prone to landslides more than damage prevention can provide grounds for slope stabilization projects. Landslide hazard zonation is one of indirect and efficient methods in identifying these areas. Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) combined with Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods can be used for this purpose. In this research an Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) combined with spatial analyst has been used for identifying landslide hazard zones of Alborz province. The zoning results has been categorized in four class including very high, high, medium risk and low risk, while high and very high risk zones has been considered as a whole. The results showed 81/70precent of landslides have occurred within the hazardous zone with 3724/37 kilometers area.
