The Dynamics of the Islamic Republic of Iran' Foreign Policy in the Synthesis of Paradoxes

Message:
Abstract:
The present paper attempts to explain the dynamism of I.R. of Iran’s foreign policy in establishing consistency between paradoxical issues and to answer the question of how the Islamic Republic of Iran has been able to integrate and adapt between seemingly contradictory issues in a dynamic process. In the first section, the paper examines the theoretical dynamism in foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in terms of balance between the three paradoxes of idealism and realism, introversionism and extraversionism, and foreign policy and security policy, which leads to "realistic idealism", "endogenous extraversion", and "common foreign and security policy". Then, in the second section, the connection and mixture between the three practical paradoxes, namely: regionalism and trans-regionalism, bilateralism and multilateralism, and declaratory and operative policy within the framework of "neo-regionalism", "bi-multilateralism" and "declaratory and operative policy linkage", would be elaborated.
