Investigating the Strengthening and Weakening Factors of Historical Continuation of Claimants of Mahdism

Due to the appearance of the claimants of Mahdism throughout history, one of the fundamental questions is the way of the emergence of sects and flaws in different periods. Besides that, the study of the grounds and the reasons of their continuation and stoppage is of particular importance. Following the importance of this issue and constant concern of the considerate and guardians of pure Islam and many activities to protect the Shiites and in particular the youth, this paper seeks to answer the how of persistence of the Mahdism claimants and the strengthening and weakening factors of their continuation. In this research, the data of the sources of sects and diverging flaws were obtained through library studies and analyzed with a descriptive-analytic method. The results show that the most important factors of the continuation of Mahdism claimants are: enjoying the support of the dominant-colonial government, the cultural-media support, creating the opportunity and geographical status and moving in line with the beliefs of society. Moreover, factors such as the existence of Shi’a scholars as the border guards of the Islam against the deviations, accusations of the opponents, the false relation, the undefendable claims, the falsification of the origin of the sect, immaturity and armed insurgence has caused the stoppage of historical continuation of Mahdism claimants.
