Strengthening I.R. Irans Soft Security through TV News

Information and news directly contribute to soft security, and may have significant impact on strengthening or weakening the status of soft security. In case national media intends to have an effective role in this issue, it needs to develop a strategy and adopt a policy proportionate with objectives, strategic and farsighted management. In the present research, while taking into consideration the proper impact of TV news on soft security management constituents such as soft power, soft war, public opinion, etc. TV news and soft security are respectively looked into as independent quality and dependent quality. The present research aims at offering some strategies for IRIB›s news to strengthen I.R. Iran›s soft security. At first, having reviewed strategic documents, strategic objectives are determined, then experts are selected through interview ,and the output of strategic planning including pairs of strong and weak points, as well as opportunities and threats are determined. Through determining the scores of the aforesaid pairs, the status of I.R.I.B news in the environment of I. R. Iran›s soft security in the matrix of determining strategic status, in the conservative side (superiority of weaknesses and ortunities) has been determined. SWOT Matrix has been used as a tool for determining strategies. Eight conservative strategies have been achieved for strengthening I.R. Iran›s soft security through combining strong and weak points. In the selection stage, relative attractiveness of strategies have been determined through QSPM matrix, while stressing the redevelopment of news values were prioritized based on the values of broadcasting.
