Expressing the Effectiveness of Urban Rights and Regulations on Women’s Urban Security in Iran (Case Study: Zones 3 and 13 of Tehran)
Security is among the most important requirements of urban life. Insecurity is enhancing very fast, and has led the citizens to bind their activities to some certain times and places .Generally speaking, women feel more insecure compared with men. The roots of this issue could be attributed to the rather dominant of patriarchal culture. Although citizenship security, particularly women’s security in the city is a function of urban and citizenship regulations, there has been few researches dealing with impact of urban regulations on citizen’s security. First of all, the research surveys urban and citizenship laws and regulations , then field study was conducted on ladies either working or living in zones of Tehran( almost having the same contribution to urban development) to review the effectiveness level of them. calculated for each zone based on Cochran formula. The results of this library study indicated that the issue of security has not been seriously dealt with in urban regulations, and the issue of ladies security has been particularly disregarded. There are just a few stances in the citizens’ rights charter that legislators have paid attention to women’s rights. The results of the field study indicated that ladies in zones and are not satisfied with the outcomes of implementation of urban regulations and laws, and do not consider them useful and practical.
