The Mixed Analysis of Indicators and Sports Governance Observer index
The Sports Governance Observer (SGO) aims to inform sports federations on how they can organize their affairs in effective manner as well as monitor their governance practices. The purpose of the study was to identify indicators and determine sports governance index on federations. The method of research was mixed and sequential exploratory kind. The statistical population in the qualitative study consisted experts (15 Person) and the statistical population in quantitative study consisted 224 senior sports boards in west states. Research tool in qualitative study was the interview and in quantitative study was the questionnaire that designed in accordance with the identified factors. To divergent validity survey, by exploratory factor analysis four factors (0.58% of the variance) and 25 indicators in the index were identified. In convergent validity survey, Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the four extracted factors and reliability of the index with Cronbach’s alpha 0.91 was high. The findings showed Sports Governance Observer score was for transparent (2.67), democracy (2.56), check (2.42) and solidarity (2.43). Final score was %38 and less than average. The results of this study provided a set of parameters for prioritizing measures to improve the good governance of sports federations.
