Role of Computer Confidence, Test Anxiety, Locus of Control and Autonomy in Predicting E-learner Success

Abstract:
After a decade of advent of e-learning in Iranian higher education,the phenomenon ofdropoutremains asa major challenge.Due to importance of improving student success and reducing dropout rate, this paper examined the role of computer confidence, test anxiety, locus of control and learner autonomy in predicting elearner success. To do so, data of 738 undergraduate and graduate students of E-learning Center in Iran University of Science and Technology were collected using a survey research method and analyzed by correlation and multiple regressions.Findings revealed a negative relationship between test anxiety and e-learner GPA; the relationship between learner autonomy and e-learner GPA is positive. The results of multiple regression analysis showed test anxiety and learner autonomy are strongest variable to predict the success of elearner. Finally, the findings of the study were concluded and discussed.
